When I was young, still in my prime,
I loved to whistle all the time.
From morning fog, till nightly dew,
the whistling came, the whole day through.
My whistling came, if I felt sad
and lifted me from gloom to glad.
The joy I got from doing this,
I'll long remember, always miss.
But then, with age my teeth were lost
and broken spirits were the cost.
I tried to sing, with no welcome,
then found instead, I still could hum.
Hum happy tunes when you feel low-
And give your life a brand new glow.
