An object of peaceful beauty, the tree was alive with birdlife and blossoms, but lurking within was the menace of death. High in the branches the young adventuress twitched with excitement, so close to her avian prey. Toby watched, heart in mouth… afraid for the birds and afraid for his kitten’s safety. She took one step too far, lost her footing, was falling… falling… to end with a cooling-off splash in the bird bath below. Writing Prompt Can you tell a complete story with just 75 words?
