Glorious spring strays onto winter's scene,
as warm winds gently stroke our weathered skin.
Then snow and ice depart, the land turns green,
soon nature's magic painting will begin.
Where once was only white, colors will glow,
with every brush stroke she reveals her plan.
Then all of us will revel in her show,
and of this artist, we'll become a fan.
Blue waterways released from icy bounds.
Reds, yellows, violets, pinks, rise from the earth,
as every color known will splash the grounds,
we cherish all these gifts and what they're worth.
A concert soon, the birds to us will bring.
As winter wanes we welcome lovely spring.
