Fears! The word LOVE if heard by some girls might be perceived as absurd A sweet solution for my plight was one I hoped would bring about delight and touch her tender heart so much there might be tears Just one red rose did make her eyes shine bright Though white orchids could have felt right When emotions are stirred reason takes flight like a bird - She purred Cheers! Writing Prompt Write a diatelle for this poetry contest. A diatelle has a set syllable count and a set rhyme. The syllable count is: 1-2-3-4-6-8-10-12-10-8-6-4-3-2-1. The rhyme patter is: abbcbccaccbcbba. It is usually displayed centered. See an example here. Recognized Author Notes In Victorian times flowers were often used to express emotions in romantic and/or awkward situations. The rose, of course, symbolized romantic love. The orchid was a picture of beauty; the gardenia, secret love; the camellia, admiration; violets, modesty; and zinnias, constancy. Fans were also used to convey feelings. But we will save that for another poem!
