Splashing and Crashing by Aussie

From their freezing Antarctic home
They grace us with their presence
Every year they come to play
Calves in tow, families frolic

So blessed are we to have them
Swimming in our warm waters
So calm are they, we swim together
Leviathans gentle and free

Some cows give birth here
Knowing they are safe
By the time they return home
The calf is around six months old

I am blessed to be a short drive away
I can see them frolic in Hervey Bay
If there were sharks around
little calf whispers in mother's ear

He uses different clicks and whistles
Warning mother of impending danger
How wonderful is nature's beauty
How wonderful is our God.

Author Notes
Every year the Humpbacks swim 10,000 miles from the freezing waters of Antartica to the warm waters of our Pacific. Thousands of tourists flock to the whale-watching boats to see these wonderful whales. Not this year, no tourists from abroad, only locals in our state can come and wonder. This year will be a first for humans swimming with the whales! Thanks for reading.
