America what happened to your pride,
What happened to your might?
What happened to your will to win,
What happened to your fight?
What happened to that "sleeping giant"
That held Japan in awe?
Could it be in that fight
America gave it all?
I hope not for our children's sake,
I hope not for our dreams,
But through these two tired eyes,
That sure is what it seems.
Maybe when your dander's up,
And your back to the wall,
America will once again be great
And remain strong and tall.
Or, maybe when you reach that hill,
You will find it a little too steep.
Unlike that war with Japan,
The giant will just continue to sleep.

Author Notes
I wrote this years ago, however; it seems kinda appropriate today. When are we going to get our country back? The longer we wait, the stronger the anarchists will grow. I agree with putting the National Guard around the capital, but, I disagree with them being unarmed. It's like putting them in a lions den and expecting them to keep from being bitten.
