The Birth of Colors and Rainbows by amada |
The Creator looked at the world He had made and noticed it had a penchant for melancholy and a monotonous tune. He realized it needed a little blush, a sweet spark of its own; a light that would ignite the glow in all souls. He decided to create colors. He breathed into the air, and each breath gave birth to a color, each one with a light of its own. He talked it over with His friend, Nature. Nature loved the idea and began blendng gifts that would complement each color, because everything in creation would have beauty and strength of its own. Nature blew in a sprig of fresh leaves, and they became gentle green. He dug handfuls of moist earth and breathed in soft brown; tossed high a lump of fresh snow flakes, and they became glossy white; a shy rose petal was soaring by and he blew radiant red on it; and a grain of fresh corn fell on his hands, and it became bright yellow. When evening came, he took a log of robust coal and tinted it mighty black; when dawn came, he dusted it in infinite white. Then he motioned an arc, and breathed on it. The arc rose up, playfully, like a child arriving at a playground; the colors filed in, side by side, and formed the very first rainbow. The people on earth looked above and smiled at each other. Little did they know this would be only the first of many wonders--that soon, savvy men would decipher the unique essence of each color, compile them, blend them, daub their uniqueness into each other, which would give birth to masterpieces to last through the ages. To name a few: the sublime Starry Night, the mystic smile of a Mona Lisa, and the tragic Last Supper. People could not foresee how many more wonders would appear. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
