It’s a short walk I've done before;
Just one step down and out the door.
≈ ≈ ≈ ≈ ≈
My garden is a peaceful place,
Made to capture both warmth and grace.
There’s always gin ... a bit of wine -
A welcome spot that I call mine.
I share it with a bug or two,
No, nothing large, like from a zoo.
The patio is made of stone
With earthen browns that set the tone.
A wooden walk that goes nowhere -
For lonely walks, made in despair.
Just there and back, a simple trek;
It’s not designed to break your neck.
Languid lilies leading the way,
Embracing warmth ~ a summer's day.
Bold flowers with an upwards charge,
Are shaped like stars, but not that large.
Some vital vines found on the wall
Are trained on wires to not grow tall.
Three fences stand, where there was none,
With iron hooks - each fence holds one.
My private place - not for sharing -
While iPhones see, they’re not staring.
A pic of me you’ll find quite rare.
To most I’m simply known as Jer.
My garden’s now, what I embrace.
No pics of me are in this space.
My world is not a place to share;
I won’t be judged by what I wear.
The table's set for two you see;
Most think it’s quite an oddity.
I always eat and dine alone.
I do meet friends, but on the phone.
