He set out to perambulate
Needing to carefully gauge his gait
His stick was one of perfect height
And made him walk and stride upright
Along the path there was a couple
She in a wheelchair, no longer supple
Trying she was to pick up a mound
Laid by her devoted service hound
He stopped to help, laid down his stick
Patted the dog who gave him a lick
A disposable bag, and the mound put within
Walker proceeded to the doggy poo bin
She thanked him profusely and with dog alongside
Scooted away to complete her morning ride
Only then did the walker, becoming disheartened
Realise that his stick had also departed
