Sweet Jorge sunshine boy,
lonely is the night,
the long, lonely night.

I stretch myself up and out,
around, back and down.
But you missed the show,
the little show for you alone,
the lioness dancing in the night,
in the light of the street lamps.

Sweet Jorge sparkling in the dawn,
your funny wit finding places to hop along,
skipping on the wandering conversation from night 'til morn.

It carries the weight of a lifetime, or floats like an errant word upon a moonbeam. It stops

Listen to the silence of the night.

Now hear the awkward noises of two unconscious bodies and minds rejuvenating quietly, or so we think.

Who wakes up whom, and when? Why?
A dream spoken aloud,
half a conversation,
the sudden jolt of nerves firing that shakes the mind awake.

One rolling person colliding with another, a laugh, a tickle;
I jostle you, and get a grumpy groan.

A pinch, a playful slap, "Ow!"
a kiss, a snuggle, a groping hand;
noises that would have embarrassed me decades ago.
No matter.

You hid under the covers, and now I have found you.

Sweet Jorge, my love.
