a fluid veil
stands before me
reflecting the future
time forging on
ripples the fabric
dancing across eternity
placing my hand
in the material
unfolds the present
the veil parts
revealing many paths
to astonishing worlds
my spirit soars
into the darkness
searching for revelation
galaxies surround me
on this journey
soaring through space
colors begin here
coral, silver, turquoise
encircle each star
a mammoth nebula
draws me closer
to my questions
what is truth
what is purpose
what is love
my journey slows
when a face
begins to appear
the nebula asks
what are you
seeking my friend?
do we exist
or
are we dreaming?
your truth
lives within
your spirit
lifting my eyes
from the microscope
an answer emerges
we are the center
of all things loved
by our Creator

I recently read an article in which the opening read: "When we look at the stars, we are an amoeba gazing at the ocean." What a profound statement. A single-cell organism, gazing at its world. A microscope is a gateway to another world. In a way, it shows us how small we really are, and how big our God is.
