sweet oranges freshly
picked from trees,
cut and sliced
in perfect circles.
baby's first choice
at Christmas feast.
juice drips down chin,
fingers sticky wet,
toothless smile,
blue eyes sparkling
like stars bright
with Christmas glee.
Oh, holy night.
