You thought it unimportant
At your first interview,
T’was not a sneeze, where even bosses
Surely say, “Bless you.”
A thing, inconsequential
And insignificant,
But dining with your boss and wife,
It was a rude affront.
You and his wife are dancing
Been wined and dined—it’s late
And suddenly it happens;
The wife is now irate.
You take her to the table,
Again, a big surprise
Unable to control it,
You cringe, with sheepish eyes.
The boss asks you a question,
His red line has been drawn;
You’re ready with the answer,
But, once again…. you yawn.
