Amidst the brightly-colored plants and flowers
I see two spotted creatures in my garden!
A funny, friendly face and neck that towers
above my head says "Ma'am, I beg your pardon.
The leaves so sweetly scented after showers
aroused our taste buds just like crispy lardon
did tempt you in the morning to break fast.
You know those silly diets never last."

In shock, I wondered how these creatures knew -
giraffes now munching my acacia leaves.
I did eat bacon, just a slice or two.
Or, maybe more than that - my tummy grieves.
Apparently giraffes provide the clue.
If we deny the truth, we're just like thieves.
This dream, or nightmare, gave me food for thought.
Don't ever break your diet - you'll get caught.
