Birthday wishes cross the sky
in vibrant shades of blue,
ribbon'd clouds in words of white
trail tidings just for you.
Harmonizing bluebirds croon,
dutiful with glee.
A river runs and gently hums,
yet one more wish, you see.
Watch the trees, if you please
in autumn winds, they prance,
spelling out their leafy wish ~
'happy birthday to you' dance!
Even chipmunks, oh so keen ~
sing pretty for my dear Irene.
