I know this is silly
To say, willy nilly
That I don’t like octopus;
Truth told, I’ve not tried it
One look did decide it,
Not worth it, so don’t make a fuss.
I’ve watched people chew it
They seemed to live through it
But all I can see in my head
Are great giant tentacles
Crushing the ventricles
Of someone who ended up dead.
I don’t want to try it
For I can’t deny it
Looks like it most probably grew
From someone’s nightmare
And ended up there, crawling
Out of an old witch’s brew.
So, don’t try to persuade me
Berate or degrade me,
For you will regret if you do.
I hope you won’t try, ’cause
I think that I’d be naus-
e-ated and “oh, no!” on you.
