Thoughts I had when I traveled to the city that never sleeps
New York by Cassidy Husted

The handsome skyscrapers,
The car horns loud with impatience,
The rumbling of the subways beneath my feet,
The stir of accents and languages decorating the streets,
Times Square disguising the night,
The ghosts of the Twin Towers,
The Lady of Liberty standing strong in the distance,
The sight of the Hudson River,
The saxophones in Harlem,
The cheering of baseball fans in the Bronx,
The breathtaking Manhattan skyline,
Oh, New York,
You are so unique and charming,
It is impossible to not fall deeply in love with you.

Author Notes
Free verse poem of my first trip to NYC. It was a remarkable experience. I fell in love with the city, then had to leave.
