My Mytacism Made Me Money Mad by Lobber
Flash Fiction contest entry

I have Mytacism, an obsession with the letter “M”.
Many say "Money Makes a Man."
I must say making money made me “moderately miserable.”
I became miserly . . .  a Mad Miser.
Each Monday I’d buy M&Ms and Mad Magazine.

Mickey Mouse said:  “Misery happens to mice and men who make too much moolah.”

Managing too much money moved me into madness  – a mindless maniac  – a menacing monster  – the March Hare of Madness.  My miserly moments were many.

Eventually I tried “mind modification” by throwing money to the masses . . . a major mistake . . . more millionaires making more miserable mistakes . . .  mainly in the Market.

Might madness make a man mindless? . . . Maybe, maybe not.

For me . . . there’s method to my madness . . . a masterful method minus magic, meme, meditation or mantra.
Meet Marijuana!

I'm now ready to meet my Mindful Maker.

Please . . . no memoriams or memorials.
- AMen.

P.S. – Motto:
Put your Money where your Mouth is.

Author Notes
-
Mytacism - A fault of speech or of writing, consisting of a too frequent repetition of the sound of the letter m, either by substituting it for others through defect of utterance, or by using several words containing it in close conjunction. https://www.wordnik.com/words/mytacism

Mad Magazine was originally founded in 1952 by Howard Kurtzman and William Gaines. While being mostly known for its monthly print publication that would take humorous swings at pop culture and politics alike, Mad also had a long running sketch comedy show, Mad TV, on the Fox Network that ran in direct competition to Saturday Night Live.
