I'm a tomboy at heart so
high heels and glamorous shoes
are items I don't choose.
I want my feet to feel at ease
and not in a painful squeeze.
Be free to run with the breeze
or climb treetops if I please.
There are plenty of chicks
that buy stilettos to appear chic
spending stacks of money
on footwear that torture
and damage their posture.
I instead want happy feet
that keep the beat
throughout the week
but I will compromise to keep the peace.
A classic pair of sandals
on summer occasions
I will wear and with a grin bear
to avoid angry family glares.
Sneakers design has made leaps
and satisfied heaps over the years.
Comfort, versatile 'n style combined
make them suitable for a wide range of wear.
