Whoever said getting old was not that bad
must have been a tad mad.
It's depressing to see your skin wrinkle
and your eyes lose their twinkle.
It hurts when your limbs don't respond
and your mind acts more like a vagabond.
No one cares about the pearls of wisdom you have to share
cause they're too busy about their own affairs.
The ageing process sucks in every way
but it's part of life and you have to stay and play.

Caring and seeing my papa ' get old was not pleasant for either of us and to think one day I too will be frail and in need of help ( if I have the misfortune to live that long ) keeps me awake sometimes at night.
When I see elderly people making their way very slowly through the shopping centre or in the streets, my heart becomes heavy.
