Life is too precious to lose
Planet Earth by Pamusart

The glowing flies would light the skies,
and, chirping crickets wouldn't stop.
We'd see delightful butterflies.
Will future's children reach the top?

The nightingale would sing the best.
The cawing crow would belt his tune.
The quacking duckling's left its nest.
Will we still hear the crying loon?

Koalas, cuddling, cured all dread.
The redwood trees created moss.
The ghosts of bears and lions wed.
What does our future really cost?

Confused by zebra's swirling hide,
it's predators would often fail,
or suffer kicks from legs flung wide.
Will hunger make descendants wail?

The mountains had gorillas there.
Those gentle giants went their way.
Orangutan would show her care.
Is it too late to save the day?

Chimpanzees swung from vines on trees.
The gibbons always hid themselves.
Sweet jasmine kissed the summer breeze.
Will empty cupboards still have shelves?

The elephants were engineers.
They built Survival's water hole.
When one would die, they all shed tears.
Will conservation keep them whole?

To sit and watch the roses bloom,
without providing nourishment,
will guarantee the rose its doom.
Is all our time so falsely spent?

We hope that peace arrives today.
The fear of death is in our hearts,
All hands are needed for this play.
Will we get sense and act our parts?
