On Cedar creek I oft would roam.
It ran along, below my home.
One day I met, across that stream
a fair haired lass 'twas like a dream.
I went across that little creek,
walked hand in hand and kissed her cheek.
It was not long, I swelled with pride,
for then I knew, she'd be my bride.
Years later on we chose to wed.
She filled my heart, my home and bed.
For many years our dream we shared,
'till death did call and I was spared.
Cedars still grow, grow here and there.
The birds still sing, in fragrant air.
O! Cedar creek for you I yearn.
Please, my dear Lord, let me return.
