In Eden, Adam and Eve had a stake
But jealousy in the form of a serpent was their mistake.
The forbidden fruit caused jealousy
Between God and man
The serpent spoke to the woman maliciously
Although with undercurrent tones, softly and sweetly
Jealousy tears the heart,
In God's plan, it has no part
Jealousy causes pain
It can make one insane
Jealousy begins with coveting something not your own
It seeps like poison through every bone
Children can be jealous of each other's toys
Can cause the breaking up of marital joys
Jealousy is a criminal sin
Though at times one's jealousy of another's success
Can spur us on to do our best
Jealousy is something that can make us depressed
Jealousy is an unwelcome guest
In what would otherwise be a homey, loving nest.
