Red is for Hardiness and Courage
For all the world to see.
White for Purity and Innocence
God's gift to you and me.
Blue for Vigilance and Justice
That keeps America free.
Stars represent the fifty states
From sea to shining sea.
We all seem to forget her
When things are going right.
We take her out and dust her off
When America is in a fight.
She shouldn't fly occasionally
Or when we are in fear.
She should fly proudly every day

Author Notes
Memorial day is special. We, hopefully, take the time to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. It is a day to honor not only those who gave their lives but also those brave men and women who made it back home. America is in trouble today, we all need to drop to our knees and thank God not only for our fighting men and women, but for our great country and great flag. There are no others like them. Pray for them on Memorial Day.
