No longer do I feel distressed.
My worries and my fears are dead.
My soul's a bird inside a nest
that's softly floating in my head.
It's ruby red and has a crest.
It's cheerful songs remove all dread.
They rank among the very best.
It's joyous to arise from bed.
Love treats me as a special guest;
ensures my hunger's always fed.
It warms the heart inside my breast;
a place where hope has always bled.
Faint whispers glow inside my nest.
Around me, rumors start to spread,
but, gossips cannot cause unrest;
reporting only truth instead.
My life is filled with so much zest
that future doubts cannot be bred.
The past is done and put to rest,
and, "Now" is where I live instead.

Author Notes
I think this is my first non-Tanka poem this year. I hope you enjoy it. I found the photo on the internet.
I find that when I am most at peace, I am not thinking about the past or future. Just enjoying the present
