Blind In Chicago by Anthony Shaw
Being Blind writing prompt entry

Fear from the cracked window pierced my nose to wake me.
The quiet morning still taste like the blood shed from the night before.
I planned to wear a smile today, and Sam does too.
Doggy treats in my pocket to ensure the plan stands true.
But his paced tail wag indicated a fake smile too.
I know! I thought, I'll bring his favorite kind times two.
It was perfect, as we exit; the wind came from behind.
And the treats smelled better then all the night cries.
Me? I had to look within, as the journey was set to begin.
Mrs. Smiths bakery buttered my tongue, and brung my nose to its knees.
Then I herd a "good morning" it gave my smile original gleam.
I replied, good morning assuming my smile was what it seemed.
Then I herd "BARK! BARK!" tail tapping my feet at rapid speeds.
We stayed for a treat, and before we took our leave.
Licks to my face, Sammie was pleased.
We continued on, now happy go lucky.
Then Sam just stopped all of a sudden.
Excitement turned his tail wooden.
Sam's Sighs indicated danger ahead.
The journey will start tomorrow instead.

Writing Prompt
Write a POEM in 20 lines or less, featuring a person who is BLIND. Can be any situation (blind drunk doesn't count, ha ha). There can be other people in the poem also.

Author Notes
I was trying to show that evils all around you. But if you turn a blind eye to it, you may not ever have to see it. Also to enjoy the good moments and course of your day. The fear was there but not acknowledged. The trust he has for his companion was enough to persuade his senses enough to obey.
