THE REGRET
Looked around she's not there
Taken from me in a flash
The obvious things, I wasn't aware
And why lately we'd always clash
"Familiarity breeds contempt"
That's how the saying goes
Don't think any of us are ever exempt
It's the important things we don't expose
Been together for so many years
We didn't always see eye to eye
Suppose neglect always brought the tears
I now look back, see the reasons why
Relationships are give and take
So take from this what you will
Sometimes in love you have to forsake
And swallow that bitter pill
Remember the other's not always right
But not always wrong as well
Kiss and make up after every fight
Never sleep with guilt you dwell
Yes I rue some things I've said and done
Wish I could take back things I've said
I suppose I wasn't the only one
Who's broken vows we made when wed
I suppose there is a moral here
Love wholeheartedly the one you're with
So let me make it perfectly clear
When it's love there's take and give
