Geronimo and Cochise
Were sitting
On their wounded knees
In the sunrise
Chatting
And trying
To foresee
What can be seen
On the mountain green.
A tomahawk
In his hand
A black hawk
On the land,
The feathered warrior
Finished his dance
Prior
To a trance,
He looked at the Indian ridge
After the bridge,
And then after
Indian summer.
