One day, not long ago, I overheard this peculiar conversation on my way to work...'I want to go back to the orchard. I don't like it here.' 'But if Peter sees us, he will eat us whole.' 'Why do you have to be such a coward? Besides he's old and his teeth have fallen out.' 'Still... I think he's dangerous.' 'All our friends live in the orchard and they say it's safe now.' 'You go ahead then. I will stay here.' 'Do as you please. But you must know you're the stubbornest carrot I've ever met. Even if Peter was a young rabbit, you would be too tough for him to chew.'
