Jorge Morales stood at the rivers edge. The water was deep and swift. By him were his wife and two small children. He knew that he could swim and scrape his feet across the bottom, but would have to put the other three in the small boat. It was only designed for one.Looking at his wife, he said, "Marta, to the North is freedom and hope. Returning South will be hunger and repression. What do you want to do?" Kneeling down she hugged the two children. Looking up at Jorge, she shouted, "I'm not getting into that 'effing' boat."
