Yesterday on the street I saw people cry,
So I went over to say a friendly "Hi"
My bus went by
I didn't mind walking
After we got to talking
I crossed the street
Saw a policeman walking his beat
So we started to talk
About justice, murder, lies, and peace
I forgot all about the clock
We talked about people hounded by stalking
It was wonderful after we got to talking
I went around the block,
Saw a mother and baby who was missing a sock
Mom was just turning her key in the lock
I ran with the missing sock
And we started to talk
Time flies by, you can find lots of friends
With all the opportunities life sends
It's like birds flocking
After you get to talking

Author Notes
I've had many opportunities to make friends or just acquaintances when I see things like what I've described in this poem. Thanks to VMarguarite for artwork.
