This is a story of Suzy and her three kittens
With whom we all became instantly smitten.
She was a stray quietly searching for a home,
A large red tabby that appeared lost and alone.
We adopted her and made space in the pantry
A place we believed Jinx could not gain entry.
Till the day she birthed three cute little kittens,
All soft and cuddly like warm woolen mittens.
Then came the fateful moment we'd all feared
When Jinx out of nowhere suddenly appeared.
He'd heard their cries and promptly investigated,
Finding the place where the kittens were located.
But before anyone could close the pantry door
He'd picked up one of the kittens off the floor.
Turned, and straight off looked at us as if to say
"No worries I'm not harming him." "He's okay."
He then released the kitten going on his way
He'd come by to see if they wanted to play.

Author Notes
This is a true story about Suzy, and her three kittens - Muffy, Fluffy, Tuffy and our dog Jinx who later became the best of friends and lived out their lives together happily ever after. Jinx was approximately 7 years old when he picked up Tuffy in the kitchen pantry.
Jinx was a Beagle. He was our family's first dog. He lived to be 12 years old. But before he died he sired 6 puppies. One for each of us.
