The VR Booth by DragonSkulls Parenthood: An indelible memory writing prompt entry |
When the kids were young, we took our two girls to Six Flags Over somewhere. I don't even recall what state anymore. While we were walking around the place, enjoying all the festivities, we came across a booth that had virtual reality boxing. This was a long time ago and virtual reality was all still pretty new. How it worked was you'd go into this place and put on a bulky headset that covered your eyes and most of your head along with these gloves that had wires connected to the headset. Then, like the video games nowadays, it would put you into this virtual world where you were standing in a boxing ring, facing your opponent and then you would duke it out. I'm not going to lie, I didn't bother spending my hard earned money for the experience. The main lure of the booth was that you would get to fight Mike Tyson, battling it out with one of the greatest fighters ever known. My oldest daughter was around eleven at the time. Twenty years have passed and we still get a good laugh out of it. As we were passing the booth where you could fight the mighty, great Mike Tyson, my daughter looked at me and said, "I wonder if he bites your ear off."
