Endless Part I And II by easyeverett1

Endless (Part I)

I as a soldier feared the fray,
Supine upon my back I lay,
Through doctored days and dusky nights,
Beneath drab artificial lights,
Then sent my body over where
The gruesome Dungeons of Despair
Loomed dark below the bloated sea
As whispers quivered over me
From eidolons who rose with pride:
"We've fouled your silent soul inside,
But now the coward's calm must end;
'Twas we who slaughtered every friend
Who fought and died beside you there:
Courageous, young and lovely fair."

Fear (Part II of Endless)

The burden buried underneath
Is still until it breaks the sheath;
When loose a dagger can dig deep
And slice right through a priceless sleep;
All spark is dark and lost to light
You're now surrounded without sight:
The sleep of dreamless sleep denied
As with the dark I have complied.

I seek no bleak and empty pit,
In fact, I'm free to flee from it,
Yet here, in fear, I must succumb
To sheols pandamonium;
It calls my all to hide inside
The darkest center of my pride,
(Though not consigned or realigned)
A beastly coward too entwined
To leave my muddled mind to think
Through clarity, without a drink,
To fight this fear that grips my throat
A beast who steals each note I wrote
Within my head, upon this bed,
I write with insight all I said

Now sadness saturates my all,
No far or faster final fall
Has so enshrined a coward's mind
To fit a pit so darkly lined
As my internals flutter weak
I cannot find the strength to seek
The shining sun so bright before,
Will shine no light who fights no war.
