A Quatrain for Potlatch Poetry
A Forest Night by damommy

The owl flew ‘cross the harvest moon,
his silhouette so sharp and clear
above the woods so stark and drear,
against a golden night balloon.

Below, in burrows long and deep,
safe from the dangers overhead
of preying flight or padded tread,
small furry families fast asleep.
