Falling into a deep sleep wasn't Aurora's fault,
Mom and dad ticked off a faerie with a huge insult.
Maleficent not invited to the princess's christening,
(seems they didn't like her style.)
But she showed up anyway, bestowed her gift with a smile.
Aurora would live a charmed life until she turned sixteen.
Then fall into a deep sleep, the like none had ever seen.
She'd prick her finger on a spinning wheel
and not awake 'til true loves kiss.
"Destroy all the spinning wheels!" The king did insist.
But in an attic one day, alas, she spied a spinning wheel,
she reached out a finger and blood did spill.
We all know what happened then,
she slept for years, I'd say nine or ten.
A sewing machine salesman just happened by,
and the sleeping princess he did spy.
It was, of course, love at first sight,
and kissing her was pure delight.
She woke up quick and began to sing,
The salesman soon produced a ring.
With the king he made several deals.
His sewing machines would replace all wheels.
His newest machine he gave a lovely name.
He called it 'Singer' because his new bride sang
when awakened by true loves kiss.
