Thoughts of the Moon

A fixture in the night time sky
I watch you humans passing by
I draw the seas to distant land
mermaids smile, evading man
you look at me but never see
the illustrious being that is me
my body glows in the night
giving off precious light
my friends the happy glowing stars
remind me I am not the planet Mars
I am a moon, one of many rotators
come visit and explore one of my craters
a witness to comets, creatures and such
my magnitude is one to reach and touch
