Prose Prompts 1. Bucket List Everyone should have a to do list of things they want to do before they die. Using 500-750 words describe at least five items on your bucket list. Use your imagination it can be anything outlandish- riding in a space rocket; adventurous- climbing Mount Everest or skydiving; Or something simple such as having a picnic with every one you love. 2. Time travel If you could pick any period in time to go back or forward to explain in the 5Ws format. Who, What, Where, When and Why. Extra credit if you can fit in How you time traveled. Each of the Ws should be described in at least 100 words but the piece should not exceed 1,000 words. 3. Pets Most people enjoy the companionship of an animal. Some dote on them as much or more than kids. To keep it simple write 250 words why you prefer dogs to cats or cats to dogs. For those of you with more exotic pets such as lions, tigers, bears, and snakes you need to write 500 words defending why you should be allowed to keep them in captivity. Poems 1. An Ode to In-Laws Whether you love them or hate them, in-laws are part of the package when you choose your mate. An Ode is a a poem in which a person expresses a strong feeling of love or respect for someone or something. Your in-law Ode should have 10-line rhyming stanzas 2. Make Me Laugh Rhyming Poem. Using at least 8 lines, write a rhyming poem that is funny. It can be any subject you choose, but in order not to lose The poem must give me a chuckle So in writing you must buckle, For by order of law, Your poem must make me guffaw, Author Notes I think I'll take a stab at it.
