It's been just three short months
since summer strolled into town -
bringing with her hot, sultry nights with
crickets chirping endlessly by the old lily pond.
Time spent frolicking under the sun
will soon be spent snuggling under comforters.
Summer is quietly ushered out by cool
September breezes scented with
fresh pine needles littering the forest floor.
Couch for two reserved for Netflix bingeing
with buckets of buttered popcorn.
Get those fuzzy slippers on - let's do it!
