Cicada Choir by damommy
Rhyming Poem contest entry

Cicadas chirping in the trees -
they reach a raucous, deafening roar,
while humming in soft summer breeze
as they have done for years before.

They reach a raucous, deafening roar,
to herald hottest time of year
as they have done for years before,
performing seasonal premiere.

To herald hottest time of year,
they proudly sing their insect song
as they have done for years before,
this massive, ever surging throng.

They proudly sing their insect song,
a most enthusiastic choir.
This massive, ever surging throng
will serenade ‘til I retire.

A most enthusiastic choir.
while humming in soft summer breeze
will serenade ‘til I retire.
Cicadas chirping in the trees.
