My main Maine friend lives with her wood,
where wind, where snow and rain blows cold.
The road she takes, though far from good
is aided by her heart of gold.
When I am down and wish to cry,
feel sad, feel mad and all alone
she lifts me, guides me, makes me try
to seek in life a better tone.
Though we're apart, she's in my heart,
apart, alone in time and space.
She leads me to another start
and I feel saved by her sweet grace.
She stood by me when things were bad.
My thanks to her.She calls me Dad.
