She's very rich yet has an itch to see what's going on,
in comfort-plush, mandated hush, she boards the plane at dawn.
Her president, (co-resident), is in the house of power,
with well planned stops the photo ops will start wihin an hour.
The sun beats down on Texas ground, it's sweltering at best.
Will it grow cool in later hours? Perhaps a jacket, yes?
Her passion or her fashion--Is she blind to love or tact?
"I really don't care, do U?" is stenciled large upon her back.
A child detainment center...I can hardly write the words--
and link them to America, the thought is so absurd.
The land of "zero tolerance," is this liberty's nation?
Melania once immigrant...now holds a higher station!
It's more than sad, the world's gone mad. Can we not find our voice?
Lemmings, the body politic...walk off the cliff by choice!
There are a few, both "red" and "blue" who call for sanity...
Still, jacket speaks, compassion's weak, such heartless vanity!

As most humans know by now, First Lady Melania Trump took a trip on Air Force One, ostensibly to tour the detainment centers where children are housed (or caged) after being torn from the arms of their parents. It is unfathomable that she did not know that wearing a jacket that states "I really don't care, do U?" would not convey a sense of apathy that mitigated all appearance of compassion. I no longer recognize our country. It is a travesty.
