Rejecting advances, fear filled her mind
She'd been there before and always went blind
She felt so abandoned, writhing in pain;
remembered the thunder, lightning and rain
She wanted to lash out with a sharp lance;
to lop off the heads of each false advance
A loud voice was heard above the dark storm
and, waterproof blankets soon became warm
Her blindness was lifted; now she had sight
It took little effort; letting in light
So, who owned that voice; the one that began
to lift all the sadness caused by one man?
She felt so relaxed from hearing that boom
She no longer felt the fingers of doom
Her voice had the greatest power to call;
that shout that she heard was hers after all
It drove the young man right out of her life
and also got rid of all of his strife
Her confidence back, she felt really strong
Her smiles became bright before very long
Another man sought her hand for a dance
She's deeply in love; has found her romance
Now, taking their chances absent of fear,
they grow ever closer each passing year
