What makes you, you, should be no mystery, a lot like those that also made me, me! We took the sky and moon and all the stars for granted, We shared the joy of all the roses Mother planted
We ate the food she cooked with joy and laughter
Expecting it would always be there ever after
Until the day of growing into realization, that our lives should not be lived in certain expectation
The gifts each day would come from our responsibility and their values born from strengths of our ability
Not from the warm and gentle hands of Mom and Dad
But from the skill and working energies we've had
And through the years we'd learn that love is life's true measure
The energy of spirits bound together
Along the way we've taken love as expectations
For our families passed it down through generations
But as the seasons changed and life became more challenging
We noticed values would not stand as we expected things
That new technologies and gadgets changed the power of touch
That moved from hearts and eyes and lips and souls and such
That where the kiss and hug would transfer love and gratitude
They've been replaced by keys and lights and beeps of attitude
The human touch was once the precious glue that held us all together has turned to plastic, wire, video, terrorism, news, and nasty weather
Our politicians who once loved our life and lands and freedoms, now only search for fame and glory, and dark monies as their reasons! What made you-you and made me-me was once a proud community, but now we must find love and faith as our very first priority! AMEN
And their values born from strengths of our ability
