He'd worked on his homework, a late book report.
but, writing long essays was not his best sport
The letters were swimming all over the page
His pen was soon scribbling the wisdom of age
"Each life is unique; there's every design
We're fully equipped with a will that's divine
Each charming young lady and each nice young man
Will need to go after a life's master plan"
In darkest of times, he remembered the love;
That glittering light that cascades from above
He knew not to back down from any false threat
There'd never been any whose face he'd forget;
was guided by light that had beautiful hues;
remembered his past just like yesterday's news
His thoughts started forming some questions profound
Their answers escaped him but now have been found
Each person on earth needs to travel alone;
go through the vast darkness to find his way home
He's not an exception; his ashes are stored
in urn on the mantle but spirit has soared
He now has his freedom; won't have to repeat;
unwilling to rest though his life is complete
He's feeling enlightened, and, now he's a guide
who helps all good spirits across the divide
Most spirits will fall and return to the earth
He's even presided at each one's rebirth

Author Notes
There is homework in school and there is homework in life. I wish you all enlightenment.
Thank you for reading my poem. I am not Buddhist but It has a Buddhist bent to it. It is just informational. In Buddhism, enlightenment is the highest state man can attain. At that point there is no more need to toil on earth. They help souls on earth and in transition
I found the photo on the internet
