Inside the Man by Pamusart

The man inside the woman laughs
To see her belly's swollen mass.
The man inside the woman cries,
While born beneath the clear blue skies.
The boy inside the man can see
That emptiness won't set him free.
He strives to open ev'ry door;
Absorb all knowledge to its core.

He's growing fast and, now, so tall,
And, really good at playing ball.
His hormones, in a hyper mood,
Prevent his eating passion's food.
The boy has grown into a man;
Avoiding feelings when he can.
He never bought a wedding ring
His winter did not yield to spring.

Retired now, he sits alone
Just hoping someone calls his phone
The man inside himself is lost,
Because, he's cloaked himself with frost.
His aged eyes that now can see;
His ears that hear a prophecy;
His heart that's started skipping beats;
Converge in mind; survey his feats.

He knows that they don't mean a thing.
He never took the time to sing.
He knows his life is almost done.
Rues useless trinkets he has won.
Completed lives who end up sad,
Rejected things that made them glad.
They thought success meant making cash.
Emotions went into the trash.

The man is now inside his grave.
The stepping stones he left will pave
A path to help us all to find
The sanity inside our mind.
He sends a message to us all.
Don't let your feelings ever stall.
Fond memories can heal your scars
And play sweet songs on Life's guitars.

Author Notes
Make sure you have people who care about you beyond your work place before you retire AND before you die. Nurture good friends and family. They are more valuable than currency or useless awards that will be packed into boxes and given to good will. Leave people with good memories of you.

Thank you for reading my poem.

Thank you to mad mad for the wonderful photo.
