A Monchielle for Potlatch
Whew! by damommy

When last I looked today,
birds sitting in the tree
are mocking cat below
that waits in launching mode,
his yellow eyes aglow.

When last I looked today,
the grass has grown too tall,
needs badly to be mowed.
There’s always much to do
to keep a neat abode.

When last I looked today,
my driveway needs a sweep.
My trusty broom and I,
in sweeping side to side,
will clean and beautify.

When last I looked today,
I finished all my chores.
I’m all aglow with pride –
the day has been well spent –

it’s time to start inside.
