If you should ask what makes my day,
what makes me smile and gives me joy,
what brightens up the world for me,
I'd point to one sweet girl and boy.
I must stay fit to now keep up
with toddlers who are on the run.
It's up and down the floor I go
as we play games and have our fun.
While running all around the yard,
"Let's race," young Jack will say to me.
I strive to give it my best shot
as I neglect my aching knee.
When Madeline crawls everywhere,
on hands and knees I follow her.
She's very fast and I have learned
to hold her back I must defer.
They'll climb on me and laugh aloud
while I give hugs and kisses too.
A good time, yes, is had by all
till nap time when our play is through.
It's funny how the time flies by
when they're with me in Grandma's care.
This special love that fills my heart
finds nothing else that can compare.
