Another day, you're feeling down.
Seems nothing works to make you smile.
Upon your face you wear a frown.
To just feel good has been awhile.
But wait! There's something you might try
that, if it works, will make your day.
Pick up those feet and drop that sigh
and step those silly blues away.
Put on a happy song or two
and dance around the kitchen floor.
Then feel the joy as it spreads through,
and maybe you will smile once more.
But if it's to the chair you're bound
and dancing's something in your past,
turn on the music and surround
yourself with happy songs at last.
From where you sit, begin to sway.
Perhaps your arms you'll wave a bit.
Then sing along which leads the way
to sunny smiles that you'll emit.
So turn on tunes and start to move.
Put on that smile, get in the groove!

Author Notes
I find that if I'm having a bad day, I'll turn on some happy music and dance around in the kitchen. While it might not work for everyone, it really helps to pick me up. Also, I've noticed that at my mother-in-law's retirement home, they have chair dancing once a week, and the folks there seem to enjoy it.
Thanks for reading.
