when life suspends on a plateau,
when hope plunges out of balance,
when we soak in the tragedy
of fragile loss and failure,
when sore wounds fester longer
and healing is not possible,
what benefits do we get
in reconnecting with life
when it is no longer there?
why do we seek meaning in life
in a world at war with itself,
why do we tend to find love
at the cost of losing someone,
why do we send vague messages
while exposing contradictions,
why do we sacrifice truth
to advance a hidden cause,
what gains do we really have
when God is no longer there?

Author Notes
Eternal questions always haunt us in our human journey. This is a free verse , no such attempt in rhyming, no capitalization with minimum punctuation. The poem is not my personal story, it is just a product of my random musings. Thanks Google images for the picture used in this poem.
